Born Electric packs and the XUV400 do not drive like a small hatch. Higher acceptance kW can shrink dwell time — if the station can deliver, and if you still arrive with reserve.

Power is a two-sided contract

A 150 kW-capable Mahindra at a 50 kW plaza gun is a 50 kW car. Fastest trip mode on EV Grids biases toward higher listed kW. It cannot upgrade the hardware in Kurnool.

Pick the 59 kWh vs larger pack preset accurately. The stop count change is real on 500+ km days.

South and west highways

XUV400 and BE 6 are common on South/West NH. Ghat trips still need hills adjustment. Do not skip Kolhapur-style buffers because the ARAI number is large.

Use the Mahindra EV trip planner hub, then a corridor Plan now with that preset.

Fewer stops is not zero backups

Large packs tempt Fewest-stops mode and 90% charges. That is fine when guns work. It is reckless when your only pin is a single CCS2. Keep backups even in a 650 km ARAI SUV.

Do not skip the ghat buffer

Large ARAI numbers make Hyderabad–Goa look easy. The ghat does not read ARAI. Enable hills & weather, charge before Kolhapur–Belgaum country, and keep a backup. High-kW acceptance only helps when the gun exists.

XUV400 owners should use that preset, not a BE 9e screenshot from a friend. Pack and efficiency are different.
