This page is the public version of what we declare in Google Play Data safety for the EV Grids Android app. The privacy policy has the full legal text.
Data collected
| Type | Why | Optional? |
|---|---|---|
| Approximate and precise location | Find chargers near you and set trip origin from GPS (“Chargers near me”, charge-then-go). | Yes — only when you tap Use my location. Denied permission still lets you type cities. |
| Account (name, email) | Optional Google Sign-In so saved trips sync across devices. | Yes — you can plan trips without an account (saved locally on device). |
| App activity (trip cities you plan) | Generate the route, charging stops, and anonymized popular-route counts. | Required to plan a trip. Aggregates never include your name or email. |
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use location or account data for ads personalization in the app.
- We do not share your Google account with charging networks.
Sharing
Trip origin/destination and map lookups go to Google Maps Platform to geocode and route. Optional feedback you submit (including “report dead charger”) is stored on our servers so we can fix listings. Hosting providers process data needed to run the API.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). You can delete a Google-linked account from Profile in the app.
