EV Grids

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026 · evgrids.in website and Android app

EV Grids (evgrids.in) provides EV trip planning on the web and in the Android app. This policy describes what we collect and why. Play Store Data safety is summarized on /data-safety and should match this page. We do not sell personal information.

1. Information we collect

Trip planning inputs

Origin, destination, optional via points, vehicle preset, start SOC, reserve SOC, search threshold, Wh/km, trip mode, and related planner settings are sent to our API so we can generate a charging-stop itinerary. We may keep anonymized origin→destination counts for the public popular-trips list (recent plans, no names or emails).

Vehicle settings

Preset id, connector filters, and efficiency overrides are planning inputs. They are not live telemetry from your car.

Saved trips

Without sign-in, saved trips stay in browser/device storage (including localStorage). If you sign in with Google, saved trips can sync to your account so you can reopen them on another device.

Account (name, email)

Optional Google Sign-In. If you sign in, we store your Google account id, name, and email so saved trips can sync. A JSON Web Token may be stored in localStorage on the website. Planning works without an account. Google sign-in does not grant admin access.

Location

Collected only when you tap Use my location (chargers near me / charge then go). Coordinates are sent to the API to list nearby chargers or set origin. Location is not collected in the background.

Feedback

Messages you submit (wrong charger, dead charger, route issue, vehicle data, content correction, and similar categories) are stored so we can fix listings and copy. Do not include passwords or payment details.

2. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

The website may set cookies required to run the app (for example theme preference) and cookies used by advertising partners when ads are shown.

Analytics

The website uses Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights for aggregated traffic and performance. These are privacy-oriented web analytics, not a full marketing pixel suite.

Advertising (AdSense)

EV Grids has Google AdSense integrated but not yet approved, so no ads are being served on the site at the time of this update. If and when AdSense is approved, ad slots are placed on substantial editorial pages (guides, corridor and vehicle articles) and not on the planner form, thin utility tables, or account pages. Ads are never shown inside the Android app. Once ads are live, Google and its partners may use cookies for advertising, including personalized advertising where permitted. Opt out of personalized ads in Google Ads Settings.

3. Third-party services we actually use

  • Google Maps Platform — geocoding, driving routes, Places charger data, and optional Google Sign-In. Opening Google Maps navigation leaves evgrids.in.
  • Hosting — Vercel (website), Railway (API), Supabase (Postgres database and related storage).
  • Google OAuth — optional account for saved trips.

4. Data retention and deletion

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Popular-route aggregates drop old plans from that public list on a rolling window. You can delete a signed-in account from Profile in the app or by emailing us. Local saved trips can be cleared from the device. Feedback records are kept as needed to investigate charger and content issues.

5. Your rights and contact

Depending on applicable law, you may request access or deletion of account data. Contact: contact page or raza.sikander.s@gmail.com.

6. Children

EV Grids is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for accounts or marketing.

7. International users

The planner can generate same-country routes outside India. Hosting and subprocessors may process data in the regions where Vercel, Railway, Supabase, and Google operate. The strongest editorial content is India-focused.

8. Policy updates

We may update this policy when the product changes. The date at the top of this page is the last substantive update. Material changes may also be noted on the changelog.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not use app location or account data to personalize ads.
  • We do not require an account to plan a trip.
