Starting from LB Nagar
I started my Independence Day trip from **LB Nagar, Hyderabad**, with the EV charged to **100%**. The plan was to drive to Warangal, explore a few popular places, find a charger for the return journey, and then drive back to Hyderabad.
The distance from LB Nagar to Warangal was around **165 km**, with **three toll plazas** along the route.
Reaching Warangal
After a comfortable highway drive, I reached Warangal and started exploring the city.
My first major stop was the **Thousand Pillar Temple**.
Thousand Pillar Temple
The Thousand Pillar Temple is one of Warangal's most well-known historical landmarks. We spent some time exploring the temple and its surroundings before heading towards the next destination.
Exploring Warangal Fort
From the Thousand Pillar Temple, we headed towards **Warangal Fort**.
We spent some time roaming around the fort and exploring the historic structures and surroundings. After finishing the sightseeing, it was time to start thinking about the return journey to Hyderabad.
Finding a Charger with EVGrids
For the return journey, I needed a charging stop, so I used **EVGrids.in** to find a charger nearby.
I found a **BCPL eDrive** charging station near the railway station and headed there.
Having the charger location available through EVGrids made the return-trip planning much easier. Instead of waiting until the battery was low and then searching for a charger, I could plan the charging stop as part of the journey.
Charging Before the Return Journey
After reaching the BCPL eDrive charger, I charged the car and prepared for the journey back to Hyderabad.
Once the charging was completed, we started the return journey.
Returning to Hyderabad via ORR
For the return journey, we used the **ORR** and continued towards Hyderabad.
The ORR made the return drive smooth, and after completing the journey, the total distance covered for the entire day was approximately **365 km**.
The Complete EV Road Trip
**LB Nagar → Warangal → Thousand Pillar Temple → Warangal Fort → BCPL eDrive → Hyderabad**
**Total distance: ~365 km**
Starting from 100% charge and planning the charging stop in advance made the entire trip straightforward.
What I Learned From the Trip
This trip was a good example of how an EV can comfortably handle a long day trip when the route and charging stops are planned properly.
The important things for me were starting with enough charge, knowing the approximate distance, identifying a charging station before it was needed, and keeping enough battery buffer for the return journey.
Using EVGrids to find the BCPL eDrive charger made the charging part of the trip much easier to plan.
Final Thoughts
What started as a simple Independence Day drive from Hyderabad to Warangal turned into a **365 km EV road trip** covering temples, forts, highways, toll roads, ORR, and an EV charging stop.
For anyone planning an EV trip from Hyderabad to Warangal, this is a route that can comfortably be done with a little planning.
**One day. ~365 km. Hyderabad → Warangal → Hyderabad.**
